Cleaning for Data Centers & Telecommunication Environments
Traffic in and out of the data center together with the activity that takes place there draws dirt from the outside environment into the center. Although food and drinks are not permitted in the data processing center, all kinds of stains are displayed on the floors giving an unhealthy appearance. Due to the high sensitivity of data centers, these floors are to be cleaned with maximum attention and special care. Air Plenum cleans all types of floors using machinery and materials rated for reduction in static electricity. It also seals the floor from containments while providing a skid free finish.
Floor cleaning
Daily traffic on the raised floor causes wear on the metal support braces. This wear over time causes metal dust from the floor materials rubbing together. These metal particles can lead to zinc whiskers if not properly removed on a regular basis. It all needs to be removed in a professional manner in order for a data processing center to operate at its best. Computer room flooring is designed to dissipate static electricity by providing a conductive path to ground. Dirt on top of and ground into computer flooring greatly reduces the floor's ability to dissipate static. Improper cleaning can cause your floor to delaminate or chip. Air Plenum uses cleaning agents that safely remove dust and dirt from all types of tiles.
Under-floor cleaning
The plenum under the floor is the most important space in a data center. The plenum delivers cool air to the servers above and has most of the data cables and electrical cables running through it. Dust and fire are two problems that tragically could affect a data center. Any piece of wire, cigarette, empty coffee cup, piece of paper, dirt or plumbing waste could easily start a fire under the raised floor. Dust blown up from under the raised floor could clog the servers causing overheating and could contaminate the air creating an unhealthy environment in the computer room, Air Plenum removes all foreign materials under the sub-floor by using patented equipment.
Hardware cleaning
The highly sensitive electronics of your servers and computers attracts dust via the cooling equipment. This dust collection is amplified during times of data center construction projects or any other contracted activity within the data center environment. The dust is also collected on the surface of the workstations and countertops. Air Plenum uses special vacuums and specially formulated cleaning agents to remove this dust from equipment.
Ceiling cleaning
Dust and containment built up in the ceiling tiles can dislodge by the circulation of the coolant through the facility. The new ceiling tiles are made of fiber glass in order to prevent fire from spreading from the ceiling to the room. Fiber glass particles are dislodged by the air conditioning and are very unpleasant to be inhaled by the IT technicians who undergo work in data center. The contracted work that took place over the years by running electrical wires and pipes above the suspended ceiling leaves unwanted materials behind. All these materials and dust are a hazard for the data processing center and its workers and a periodical cleaning process is required in order for the operations to continue at its optimal level. Air Plenum uses state of the art equipment to remove fiberglass and unwanted materials from above the ceiling.
