Air Plenum began as a data center cleaning specialist for clients who were installing computer data centers in their companies. Clients were unhappy with the conditions of their completed rooms -- there were many environmental problems that had to be fine-tuned before the rooms could be up and running.

Ongoing construction, with dust and debris, heavy cabling, (collecting more dust) and very sensitive fire suppression systems were typical problems. Another factor -- metal stations were breaking down, causing micro sized metal particles to find their way into DASD units, causing parts wear and expensive maintenance problems. Dust clumps were causing static electricity and suffocating breather tiles, which in turn, changed thermostat levels. Clearly, our clients needed people who were highly trained, responsible and sensitive to their operations. Our tasks evolved from straightforward data center cleaning to reducing contaminants under and above raised flooring without shutting down and disrupting operations.

Air Plenum staff attended Bellcore classes to establish a contaminant standard to be tested before and after our service. Documentation was awarded to prevent poor fire inspection reports and vendor fines. Finally, a base history was established from which we could recommend an optimum cleaning schedule.

From there our Non-Disruptive Cleaning practice took off. As our experience grew in computer data centers, customers came to us with concerns about their energy consumption and alarm problems. They came to us, because we were familiar with the plenum environment and could give them our understanding of the problem. Then we began noticing and resolving structural and other environmental problems, which evolved into our Compartmentalization and Environmental Assessment Services.

Our strongest asset is our ability to integrate all of our services to meet customer needs, and if necessary, develop new services.
