In past articles we have referred to a "fail safe" switch on a fire suppression system. This is no longer the correct term, these switches are now referred to as an "abort" switch. It operates in three ways:
- Resets countdown to original time setting. It resets timer each time you let go.
- Stops countdown and begins countdown where you stopped it at (i.e. if you have it set for 30 seconds and stop it after 15, it starts again from 15 when pressed again.
- Continues the countdown
Often this operation is misinterpreted as a reset button.
